Low Voltage
Low Voltage is the term for the standard mains electricity supply and is the backbone of modern electrical infrastructure, powering everything from homes to commercial and industrial systems, the low voltage range is above 50 Volts AC and 120 Volts DC but not exceeding 1000 Volts AC or 1500 Volts DC between conductors, it is a potentially lethal energy source, and all work on LV systems must be carried out in accordance with Compass safety rules.
This section provides you with the Compass Group UK & Ireland Low Voltage Operational Policy and guidance on operating these systems.
These Rules are mandatory for all Compass Group personnel working on, working near, testing or operating Low Voltage electrical equipment and systems for which Compass Group has control of the electrical danger.
