Energy General Risk Assessment

The Offshore General Risk Assessment is a generic document, developed from the initial identification of offshore hazards which have been trended over the many years of ESS offshore operations, both locally and internationally.

The hazards identified, which include risks to occupational health, safety and the environment, have been risk assessed and scored, with an initial score calculated without any forms of control in place, control measures to reduce risk rating detailed, with a final residual risk score calculated once controls are implemented.

The Offshore General Risk Assessment will be sent to all offshore locations annually, for review by the Unit Manager, in conjunction with team members on board.

Any changes to the document, following review, are entered onto the Unit Specific Assessment Report.

The Unit Manager is responsible for ensuring engagement with the team on board for the review of the Offshore General Risk Assessment and the completion of the Unit Specific Assessment Report in accordance with procedures detailed in the Offshore Operating Manual.

Safe Work Procedures

As part of our risk assessment process, we have produced Safe Work Procedures for all of the tasks carried out by our teams on board our offshore locations.  These procedures act as a Task Based Risk Assessment, specific to each location.  The generic SWPs are sent to all locations, fully reviewed and made site specific, providing a safe way of carrying out the tasks in line with the locations specific risks and hazards.
