David Crowe, HSE Director Levy
David began his career with Compass Group UK over 27 years ago as a hospitality assistant and became an Assistant Hospitality Manager with Eurest before becoming a General Manager with Restaurant Associates. After 11 years in operations David decided to progress his career in HSE and completed the relevant qualifications before doing a secondment to Levy to assist in mobilising the O2 Arena, where he spent 3 months implementing the HSE Management Systems and training the teams. Following that he began as an HSE Manager in Levy UK where he has supported the business and developed a new Events HSE Management System which has now been rolled out across all Levy UK event sites. In 2014 David was promoted to Head of HSE for Levy UK.
David also assists in the management of HSE at some of the UK’s most prestigious events such as London 2012 Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cup, Cricket World Cup, Ryder Cup, Wimbledon Championships, Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup to name a few.
What most people don't know is that David is a published poet and has a keen interest in tattoos, he has undergone over 60 hours of ink work under the needle to date and has plans for further work in the future.

Evan Judge, HSE Manager Partnerships and Projects
Evan joined Compass Group in 2006 on a management graduate program with Chartwells, having completed the program he returned to South Africa for a short time before returning to Compass in December of 2007 with ESS. Evan has had several operational roles within Compass before finding the world of HSE when he took on his first role for ESS as QHSE Manager for the RAF Halton and High Wycombe contracts.
Shortly after this he joined Levy as the HSE Manager for the catering and hospitality operations Twickenham Stadium before moving onto a regional with Levy supporting venues across the country. During COVID-19 there was a opportunity for Evan to return to ESS as their Senior HSE Manager heading up safety for the business and he had this role for 3 years. Now Evan is back within Levy supporting the business with HSE for their Partnerships and Projects.
Outside of work Evan is passionate about Rugby, Photography and Gaming. He also has a French Bulldog, Captain who encourages him to take to reset with walks along the beach and through the New Forest.

James Law, Regional HSE Manager - Scotland
James started with Compass Group UK & I in 2013 as a Contract Regional Manager within Restaurant Associates and has since progressed into a regional role across numerous contracts. Safety has always been a focus for James within his role and when asked to support the health & safety operation at NHS Louisa Jordan during the covid pandemic at the SEC, supporting Levy, he of course said yes.
Following the NHS phase James returned to regional operations for Restaurant Associates and most recently within Chartwells Independent prior to returning to Levy at the SEC to lead the safety operation for COP26.
In 2022 James joined Levy full time as the Health & Safety Manager for the SEC, and in 2023 was promoted to Regional Health & Safety Manager.
James is a keen rugby fan so can be found in his football sites quoting "that's a funny shaped ball" and has recently taken up running 10km races to continue to beat his best time and to increase the distances in 2024.

Bettina Szelpal, Regional HSE Manager - North & Midlands
Bettina's career at Compass Group began in 2014 as a hospitality team member with Restaurant Associates. When she stepped in as interim H&S manager during a colleague's maternity leave, her passion for food and H&S grew. After excelling in high-profile contracts at RA, she joined Levy as a Regional H&S Manager in 2021, overseeing units in North London. Recently, she was appointed to cover the Midland and North Region.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Bettina's life is enriched by her passion for nature and exploration. In the company of her son and faithful canine companion, she finds solace and rejuvenation in discovering new places and basking in the beauty of the outdoors. Her ability to balance a demanding career with her personal interests reflects her resilience and commitment to holistic well-being.

Steve Clunie, Regional HSE Manager - London & South
Having worked as a HSE/Administration Manager in Universities on the south coast, Steve started his career in the Levy family back in 2013 as a casual manager working at Goodwood and then Twickenham. In 2017 Steve joined the core team at Epsom Racecourse as Senior Operations Manager and then held the General Manager role at Kempton. In 2021 Steve moved over to the Levy HSE team to progress their career having overseen the HSE of Jockey Club Catering previously.
During their time with Levy they have enjoyed working some of the largest events in the UK, such as the Rugby World Cup, Epsom Derby, Wimbledon Championships, Festival of Speed and an Ashes Test Match to name a few.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys playing sport and spending time with family and friends. Much to his wife, Lauren’s, annoyance Steve is an avid collector who also has a passion for music and has a vinyl collection of over 400 classics! Along with a large collection of vintage Lego sets that take up most of his garage space!!

Giselle Francis, Regional HSE Manager - London
Giselle is a qualified Environmental Health Officer who has worked in local government within Food Safety & Health and Safety teams carrying out food hygiene, health and safety inspections, accident investigations where necessary have taken enforcement action, serving improvement notices and prosecutions.
In the last 10 years, Giselle moved to the private sector providing consultancy services predominantly within contract catering, hospitality, and leisure sectors where she has assisted businesses in implementing Food & HSE Management Systems including training.
In 2022, Giselle joined Compass (Levy) as a HSE Manager where she has been instrumental in driving HSE management systems at Wimbledon. Recently promoted, as Regional HSE Manager based in London, Giselle is looking forward to this new journey and says she has one motto, to continuously improve.
Outside of work, Giselle is actively involved in the community where she assists with activities and initiate schemes for disadvantaged families.

Michela Calufetti, Regional HSE Manager - Jockey Club Catering
In 2015 Michela joined Compass Group within Levy Restaurants.
In 2016 she was nominated as an HSE Champion and in 2019 she moved into her first HSE role.
Michela loves working at events and since then she has supported Levy sites including Twickenham Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wimbledon during large sporting events.
Most recently, in 2022, Michela took on the role as HSE Manager for Jockey Club Catering (JCC).
In her time off from work Michela loves returning to her hometown in Italy, spend time with family, enjoy outdoor activities …and some good food.

Latifah Ojomor, HSE Advisor - Levy Ireland
Latifah has work in Levy Ireland since 2023, supporting the teams Levy Ireland with day to HSE requirements as well as supporting other parts of the Levy business in Levy UK & Ireland. She started working within catering and hospitality in Aviva Stadium as a steward, then moved on to bartending and waitressing across Levy Ireland before moving into Supervisor and HR support roles. Whilst working on a casual bases Latifah was completing her food and science and management, and environmental science qualifications.
Once completed Latifah joined Levy Ireland in a full time HSE Advisor Role supporting 8 venues across the business. While not at work Latifah enjoys eating out and trying new foods, in addition she is an avid knitter and plays in the back line for her local rugby team.
